Borealis Seafarer II
In my search for the ultimate diver under 500. USD I think my search may just be over. I came across this beauty of a beast that I think is worth a closer look. Probably not many of you have heard of this brand from Portuguese but will probably recognize the movement. More about the movement later… Here we have the Borealis Seafarer II 4000m Automatic Diver known for its divers. This particular diver is a bold move for Borealis because it is the deepest diver watch out of the brand, although given its construction I believe it is all it says to be…
This Seafarer is a large watch with a case size at 44mm x 53mm made of 316L stainless steel and 24mm lugs which includes a 316L stainless steel bracelet. Features include a screwed down crown and a slightly domed sapphire crystal with AR (anit-reflective) coding inside the crystal. The Seafarer crystal is held in place a sapphire 120 click unidirectional lumed bezel with Swiss made RC TRITEC C3 Superluminova (also on dial) in the indexes; a great looking turbine grip edge on the bezel as well… The watch has an automatic Helium valve which is seen in much more expensive diver. Very impressive.
The movement is a Japanese Citizen Miyota 9015, 24 Jewel, Automatic with hand wind, hacking function and 42 hour power reserve. In Swiss terms the Miyota competes with the ETA 2892. All this and much more for a very reasonable price at 450. I think it’s a steal given the features and functions!
