Ochs und Junior launched a lighter version of the Annual Calendar watch after it’s successful launch of the original design in 2012. The LIGHT version maintains the same design while much lighter with its case that has been milled out of all the access material.
Based in Switzerland, the company produces watches with a unique styling. The watches are designed in analog dot or square indications… an elegant yet simple style (See illustration below on function). Ochs und Junior adds no text or logos anywhere on the dial of the watches creating the unique look. This model is made with aluminum to reduce the weight by over 35% from the original Light Annual Calendar, and buckle and strap replacements were also used to achieve the 39.97g weight for the 39mm model.
The case is made out of hypoallergenic grade 5 titanium just like the previous Annual Calendar. The buckle is a hand-made Kevlar strap with a carbon fiber buckle which is tailor-made by textile designer Sabina Brägger. Each watch is hand-made and assembled using individually manufactured components.
Ochs und Junior also offers custom made pieces to its clients. Only 10 Annual Calendar LIGHT watches will be made this year and they will be available in a 39mm and a 42mm version. Movement is a ETA 2824-2 produced in Switzerland. Very nice and unique piece to add to any collection if you can get your hands on one.
